Subject: UKNM: Asda

Tim: On a lighter note, perhaps we could ask why Asda even had the audacity to
>include an @ symbol as part of their catalogue branding - months before they
>even had an online shopping presence!

Asda has actually just launched a new site www.valuemad.com which takes a
totally different strategic direction to the other supermarkets.

It reinforces Asda's brand positioning as " Britain's Best Value
Superstore" by enabling shoppers to search for the best online deals in the
UK ( in real time) for books, videos, travel, flowers etc as well as a
large range of electrical goods inc. TVs, dishwashers, DVD players.

You can also buy Asda products on the site - all the WOW! deals are part of
asda @t home. So the @ is now justified ;-)
