cheers chris. prrrresssure.... i left the beeb in july after the user
testing and concept design stage (and some of the detailed design) was over
- so haven't been there for the last implementation stage, but from what
they've let me see it's going to be fine... i hope!!!

no doubt they'll get lots of complaints about what they've changed cos
everyone's been used to it for 2 years. ho hum.

hell yeah.

there are *so* many good reasons for doing it - some less pure in motive
that others...

<machiavelli>it's a great tool to manage supplyteam/client relations with -
if you have an 'external' reference point, then egos on boths sides can be
checked...</machiavelli>

in the insanely-accelerated timescales that most projects demand (especially
startups) - you tend to get a lot of clients questioning whether
user-research and testing is strictly necessary.

unfortunately it's getting easier to show them examples why it is...
