Having just conducted a brief straw poll in telly land, no one I spoke to
seems to either a) have heard of .tv or b) give a monkey's about it.

The problem with this continuous worrying about having the right URL suffix
is that it is terribly short sighted. Why? Because in the 'convergence'
revolution, vusers (ho ho) aren't going to find content in the same way:

1. Most people will be accessing entertainment based content through walled
garden services offered by cable companies, sky, on digital or whomever.
They will never even see a URL.

2. EPGs (in a tv or web incarnation) mean that no-one pays attention to
channels (this includes URLs) but instead look for programme brands. You
look for 'Friends' not 'Channel 4' - effectively making the broadcaster
irrelevant to your choice (hence the recent increased use of permanent
on-screen idents).

Cheers,

Beren.

Er - I don't think that there are this many... I mean, not every .xxx is
available (the amount that actually are around is in it's early hundreds).
as for the .xxx.yyy there are a few more of these. I think that there has to
be an element of sanity involved. We have bought the .coms and .co.uks for
our domain names and have stopped there.
