I'm not so concerned about how it's handled in the states. Yes, the onus is
on the developer to be able to figure out this dilemma, but saying a user is
a diletant is, indeed, harsh. Flash 4 is still a new technology. Hell,
Flash 3 is still a new technology. If you're telling me that this Flash 4
Player upgrade call is to be found strange when a professional user of the
tool is using it, sir, I think you are out of line.

Of course, I'll stand in line with the other diletants; the first time I saw
it I was developing for Flash2 due to browser restrictions, and I didn't see
it because I had installed the F4 player on my machine. Guess what, I was
surprised. I would hazard to guess that you would be, too.

I'll agree.

I'm not Macromedia-bashing...and yes, some are. Regardless, a little bit of
disrespect is healthy in almost any situation. That's a very general
statement you have made, and this time, like several others, I'm beginning
to think that you may be the one getting personal by failing to understand
what a personal attack truly is. When something doesn't jive with your
likes, it doesn't mean it's devoid of reason, it simply means that others
see things from a different point of view.

This diatribe could go on and on, but like your abstaining, I will choose to
do so. I'm not going to argue when it is my feeling that the other person
is not willing to bend or is not in a position to alleviate the problem.
For clarity, I am not saying that you are not willing to bend, I'm simply
saying that it is my interpretation that you seem to be unwilling to do so.

Cheerio.
