Makers of Freehand? I thought EPS was defined by Adobe as part of the
PostScript spec. I don't hink it was explained in this thread - the
reason it's evolved into an exchange format is that Illustrator
started saving EPS files that weren't much different than regular
Illustrator drawing files (except for the EPS wrapping) and they
allowed you to re-import EPS files made in this way. People were
misled into thinking that Illustrator (or Freehand or Corel Draw
or whatever) actually had the ability to import *any* EPS file.
