Depends what you are doing. Nothing beats PS for complex image

creation/manipulation/compositing, etc. However if you are just

scanning, cropping, and compressing your images, PS5.5 would be

overkill.

Its a very different tool with some overlapping features, Fireworks and

Photoshop are very far from being in the same league.
