No insult to you Marc,

But for the other develops of Flash that lack in the "marketing field" it should
never be misunderstood how much someone gets paid for a project. There should be
forms/contracts sent by fax or by snail mail with signatures and usually a
deposit.

Things should be in writing before the developer even opens his graphics proggy.

I see so many good artists get scewed, because they dont know how to market
themselves. This also hurts the "ethics" of the entire developers community, for
smaller budgeted clients.

I think if someone where to do "pro-bono" work it should be to the beneifit of the
developer. I see the hard efforts of John C, Colin Moock and others to bring Flash

to the for front, but I havent seen any sites created for the marketing of FLash.

I abide by the "Graphic Artists Guild Pricing & Ethical Guidlines". (9th edition).

YOu dont have to be a member. Just go to your local bookstore and grab a copy.
Its a must for any new developer wanting to make a lively hood in this field.
It has forms you can copy right out of the book and mulit-media and animator's
section on pricing.

I would _not_ recommend doing any "pro-bono" work for anyone other than a charity
or non-profit organization. Anyone else should pay.

Evidently Mr. "Dan" here has gotten a "freebee" and is back for more.

Check out http://www.gag.org for more on the guild and its discouragement of these
practices. THey have a "black list" for companies who are known to promote
themselves for little or no compensation for the sweat of of other people's back.
If its commercial and its "cutting edge", then you should get paid royaly. Because

you are a "specialist". Ever see the difference between a Dentist and an
Orthodontist's
paycheck? The Ortho is a "specialist".
