It's nice apart from the 'left, right' widget. In the words of Tom Hanks in
Big 'I don't get it'. Looks like they're falling into the portal trap - link
farm madness resulting in just a mass of visual noise with little rising
above it.

Often it's the result of politics 'but I want my link on the front page'.
Often correct segmentation of a site - with possible alternative entry
points, much like the Sunday Times does to it's paper version, can solve
this and keep things simple as things get more complex.
