Too true - a friend of mine recently placed an order that took 10 days to

arrive, despite the claims that these books should be dispatched within 24

hours.  He received no email notification to say the books were out of stock

and that he would have to wait for delivery, nothing.  Needless to say, he

will not be buying from Amazon again.


Incidentally, the story I heard about where Amazon came up with their name

was that Amazon used to be the US' top porn site, and the current domain

owners bought it off them as there was already a considerable level of

traffic to the URL.  I have no idea if it's true or not, but it's a nice

story...
