Randy,

We are developing CD-ROM based catalogs and one of the requirements from my
boss is that they are completely self contain to the CD-ROM with an auto run
to launch it. Right now we use some slick HTML/DHTML and we are basically
building web sites onto these CD-ROM's, however I really like what I have
seen from this list and what I have seen in my studies to date with Flash.
My question to you is this, would your app be able to stand alone with out
having to be installed to the local drive. Secondly, would this allow us to
create the catalog, and launch it something like the little watch app that
somebody posted to this list a few days ago. What I really liked about that
EXE was that it was all self contained and ran in a full monitor view.
Would your app or Flash make that possible or am I way off in left field
with this. Thanks for you help, and all the great comments that people make
on this list.

Bill

Hey rick,
That brings something interesting up, well at least in my mind. I'm an
intermediate program in VB and a few other "Programming" languages.
Something that would be really helpful in flash, or at least I think so,
would be something like that, but with a few more features. So here's my
proposal for anybody that would want something like this. I can make an app
for the PC, that all you have to do is edit an INI file, and tell it
either/or a website to open or an application path. The application alone
would be around 3kb, but the runtimes for VB5 or 6 are around 1.3meg. So
this would probably end up being limited to CD production. Again if anybody
is interested in this, or has any more ideas for something like this, just
pass the word on to me.
Randy
