Re: FLASH: No more demo FLAs

As a former member of the Lisp community, I'm shocked by a case of 

flagrant plagiarism in the first issue of the epistle entitled 

"Branden's Brain". At one point, the author expresses himself as 

follows:


   Let's say you have some code in the movie clip instance named FOO

   and you want to talk to the movie clip instance named BAR.


When I read this prose, my heart stopped beating for a few 

milliseconds. This rude newbie guy named Branden is stealing 

outrageously our good old "foo bar" LispTalk, and applying it 

stupidly to the geekless Flash ActionScript world, and he's not even 

acknowledging his affinities. Strike him down! What an ugly intruder! 

I'm glad I've captured an image of his tiny brain, so that I can zap 

him out of existence if ever he dares to raise his mindless 

complaints, once again, about being ripped off....


I would have been happy if Branden had said "fool" instead of "foo", 

and "bad" instead of "bar". That would have put him into perspective, 

without offending our old-time Lispers.


Another minor but relevant detail. It's a fact that our innocent 

Branden, who may know how to write code (?), doesn't know how to 

write good English prose.


He might be quiet for a while...
